First Look Images of “Youth” Are Here

With the highly anticipated premiere of Youth just around the corner, creator, star, and Merman Co-founder Sharon Horgan sits down to talk with Vanity Fair about the show, the chaos of middle-aged womanhood, and the industry’s warped ideas of ageing.

Youth, which premieres on HBO MAX on September 20th, revolves around Alex (Horgan), a London literary agent who is just about holding her life together. Her teenage son Ruari (Aran Murphy), is emotionally unravelling, and her actor ex-husband is moving to another country with a younger woman. Meanwhile, her best friend Sam (Sharlene Whyte) —who is also her boss— keeps trying to fix her up with older men, but Alex is still infatuated with Patrick (Rupert Friend), a rogue-ish Scot who seems more suited to a hookup than a long-term relationship.
