Having directed many of the UK’s best-loved TV comedies including the cult hit Father Ted, to the comedy juggernauts Little Britain and Cold Feet, it’s no surprise that Declan Lowney harbors two-time BAFTA wins for his comedy direction, alongside two international EMMYs.
Declan worked on Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, serving as both director and supervising producer for eight episodes. The smash hit show has received awards left, right and center, including over 60 EMMY nominations (and numerous wins) within three consecutive years, making it the most nominated show of all time.
During 2013, Declan directed the box-office success Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, inevitably starring the irrefutable Steve Coogan, alongside a myriad of heralded British cast, including Anna Maxwell-Martin, Diane Morgan, and Monica Dolan.
Declan’s commercial work is characterized by its humorous light touch, quick-witted dialogue, and warm, relatable performances that capture the emotional beats of the story. Across his career, Declan has worked with the biggest names out there whether it be Samuel L. Jackson, Sly Stallone, George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Idris Elba, Steve Coogan and Vinnie Jones. Or even Beyonce, The Spice Girls, and a certain someone named Stevie Wonder.
When it comes to working with top-tier talent, quite simply Declan is the best there is. Over the years, he has directed award-winning and unforgettable ad campaigns for some of the most prestigious comedy brands from Warburtons, Halifax, and AA to BT, Santander, Sky, and, most recently, Allstate featuring Dean Winters.
