Merman’s Amandaland Scores Four BAFTA TV Nominations

31 March, 2026

Merman’s BBC comedy Amandaland has received four nominations at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards, announced on March 24. The show earned a nod for Best Scripted Comedy alongside three acting nominations in the Best Actress in a Comedy category — with Jennifer Saunders, Lucy Punch, and Philippa Dunne all recognised for their performances in the series.

The three-way acting nod is a remarkable achievement, with the show’s ensemble cast competing against one another in the same category. Amandaland, a spin-off from Merman’s hit series Motherland, continues to build on the company’s strong track record in British comedy and marks another significant BAFTA moment for Sharon Horgan and co-founder Clelia Mountford’s production banner.

The 2026 BAFTA Television Awards ceremony will be hosted by Greg Davies and broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, May 10. As reported by Chortle.
