17 November, 2018
Composer Oli Julian won the Best Music – Original Title award at last night’s RTS Craft and Design Awards for his work on BBC Two’s Motherland. The jury said that the title score was “cool, fun, bold and brassy. A high tempo introduction that grabbed you and made you want to watch!”
The ceremony was held at the London Hilton on Park lane hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen. Also nominated for the Best Music – Original Title Award were Murray gold for Come Home and Tandis Jenhudson for Civilisations. Oli attended the ceremony and collected the award.
Oli Julian has also composed for This Country, Timewasters, Episodes, The Circuit (produced by Merman) and Catastrophe (produced by Merman and Avalon).
Motherland was produced by Merman and Delightful industries. It was written by Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh, Graham Linehan and Helen Linehan and directed by Juliet May. It stars Anna Maxwell Martin, Lucy Punch, Diane Morgan and Paul Ready.
Motherland was recently announced in June that it will be returning for a second series.
