Declan Lowney

Having directed many of the UK’s best-loved TV comedies including cult hit Father Ted, to the comedy juggernauts Little Britain and Cold Feet, it’s no surprise that Declan Lowney harbours two-time BAFTA wins for his comedy direction, alongside two international EMMYs.

Most recently, Declan has been working on the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, serving as both director and supervising producer. The smash hit show has received awards left, right and centre, including over 60 EMMY nominations (and numerous wins) within three consecutive years, making it the most nominated show of all time.

In addition, during 2013, Declan directed the box-office success Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, inevitably starring the irrefutable Steve Coogan, alongside a myriad of heralded British cast, including Anna Maxwell-Martin, Diane Morgan and Monica Dolan.

Declan’s commercial work is characterised by its humorous light touch, quick-witted dialogue and warm relatable performances that capture the emotional beats of the story. Across his career, Declan has worked with the biggest names out there whether it be Samuel L. Jackson, Sly Stallone, George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Idris Elba, and Steve Coogan. Or even Beyonce, Spice Girls and a certain someone named Stevie Wonder.

When it comes to working with top tier talent, quite simply Declan is the best there is. Over the years, he has directed award-winning and unforgettable ad campaigns for some of the most prestigious comedy brands going, from Warburtons, Halifax and AA to BT, Santander and Sky.
