Derek Waters

Derek Waters is best known as the creator of Comedy Central’s DRUNK HISTORY. In the early days of DRUNK HISTORY, the short Douglass & Lincoln, starring Will Ferrell and Don Cheadle, premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won The Jury Prize for Best American Short. Since then Derek has directed a number of DRUNK HISTORY’s funniest segments and episodes, developing a strong skill for capturing comedic performances and working with name talent.

Prior to that, Derek sold three shows to HBO – LOL, a sketch comedy show based on his UCB show which HBO bought for their then-new deal with Funny Or Die; and 13TH GRADE, a scripted show that Jimmy Miller, Emily Kapnek, Naomi Odenkirk and Michael Cera produced for which Derek wrote, directed, and starred in; and DEREK & SIMON with Simon Helberg.
