
Amandaland Wins Best Scripted Comedy at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards

Merman’s hit BBC One comedy Amandaland claimed one of the night’s most celebrated prizes at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards on 10 May, taking home Best Scripted Comedy — and the good news kept coming, with a Series 3 renewal announced shortly after.
The award was accepted by an emotional ensemble on stage: co-creators Holly Walsh and Laurence Rickard, writers Barunka O’Shaughnessy, Kirsty Mitchell, and Tim Mannion, alongside stars Lucy Punch, Philippa Dunne, and Alyssa McClelland. Walsh brought the house down with a rallying “Mums on tour!” before adding a more heartfelt note: “This is for everyone who is going through a process of reinvention.”
