Merman Partners on ‘Pitch Your Story’ — a New Initiative Supporting Emerging UK Filmmakers
09 April, 2026
Merman is delighted to be a production support partner on Pitch Your Story, a new initiative launched by LADbible Group in collaboration with Young Arrows and Race Equality Foundation. The program opens its doors to emerging creatives across the UK, inviting aspiring filmmakers and storytellers to pitch concepts for short social-first films exploring identity, belonging, and what it means to call the UK home in 2026.
The initiative is specifically designed for early-career talent — including students in film, media, or communications, and junior creatives with up to three years of experience. Pitches should explore questions of identity and belonging, with a particular lens on the experiences of those from Black, Asian, and minoritized ethnic communities. Film formats are open: personal stories, community reflections, manifestos, profiles, or observational pieces are all welcome, with a runtime of 60–120 seconds.
The winning pitch will receive up to £15,000 in production support, along with mentorship from Merman and the partner organizations. The deadline to submit is midnight on Monday, 11 May 2026.
