Aisling Bea’s most recent addition to her award nominations for This Way Up is that of the Breakthrough Talent Award at the 2020 Edinburgh TV Awards. This is the third nomination in a Breakthrough category for Aisling this year, having previously been nominated for the 2020 Breakthrough Award at the RTS Programme Awards and the Breakthrough Talent Award at the 2020 BAFTA Television Craft Awards. The latter of which Aisling won.

Aisling Bea and Sharon Horgan in This Way Up

As well as starring in the leading role, Aisling Bea also created and wrote the entire series of This Way Up. The series is directed by Alex Winckler and produced by Gavin O’Grady. The executive producers are Clelia Mountford, Sharon Horgan and Aisling Bea. This Way Up also stars Sharon Horgan, Aasif Mandvi, Indira Varma, Tobias Menzies and Kadiff Kirwan.

This Way Up was also nominated in the Comedy Series: English Language category at the 2020 Rockie Awards and Alex Winckler was nominated for This Way Up at the 2019 RTS Craft & Design Awards in the category of Best Director – Comedy Drama/Situation Comedy. The  Edinburgh TV Award winners will be announced in November.
